Dwayne Bowe releases statement to Sports Radio 810 WHB

Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe had one of his better games as a Chief in terms of yardage and impact on the game, but had his worst week as a professional.  On Tuesday Bowe was suspended four games by the league for violating the performance-enhancing substance policy.  The Kansas City Chiefs have released a statement saying they will have no further comment.  Bowe was contacted on Tuesday by WHB but was advised by his agent, Todd France, not to speak live on the air, but did release a statement exlusive to Sports Radio 810 WHB through Eddie Kennison, which was read last night on the "Truth":

"First of all, to all my fans, I'm extremely sorry.  I was only trying to do right for my team by losing weight to be much quicker.  I would never use steroids of any kind.  My reputation is everything.  My fans know I am not that type of guy to get over."

Bowe was reported to have checked in at training camp 30 pounds over weight and found himself in Todd Haley's doghouse sitting 3rd on the depth chart when the preseason began.  Stay tuned in to Sports Radio 810 WHB and 810whb.com as the story continues for all the latest.
