Union Broadcasting launched Kansas City’s first-ever, full-time sports radio station in 1994 on daytime radio station, 1510 AM KCTE.
On October 1, 1999, the local ownership group made a bold move and purchased the third-largest AM signal in the country. Since that moment, everyone in the five-state Midwest could listen 24 hours a day from anywhere and Sports Radio 810 WHB was born.
Our audience grew by leaps and bounds as listeners gained a passion for their favorite local teams and hosts. As we approach 25 years, we want to celebrate this monumental time by commemorating the radio station’s history and the growth of the digital assets we provide so fans can stay close to the teams they love.
